VIRTUAL TOUR

The warmth of wood, the elegance of metal and recycled materials. L’Altro Impero offers a modern interior design in a historic building, with two porches that overlook respectively Piazza dei Signori and the loggia of Cortile Mercato Vecchio.

Our restaurant is located inside the ancient palace that once was the headquarter of the first Verona town hall. It was built at the end of 1100 to celebrate the victory of Verona over the imperial army of Federico Barbarossa, it is the symbol of that great and unexpected victory.

It overlooks the so called “living room” of Verona: Piazza dei Signori; it is surrounded by impressive buildings that were central during the period of the Scaligeri: Palazzo della Ragione (today the location of the modern art gallery “Achille Forti”), Scala della Ragione and Torre dei Lamberti, Palazzo del Capitano and Palazzo del Governo, today the headquarters of the Provincial administration and of the Prefecture. Within walking distance from the square, we can find the Arche Scaligere, the majestic tombs of the Lords of Verona, the Scaligeri.
